b. 250-251

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

Triplet in bar 251 in FE (→EE)

Triplet in bar 250 in GE

..

The version of GE, in which the figures in the L.H. in the 2nd halves of bars 250 and 251 are swapped, was initially also in FE, where, however, Chopin changed it in the last stage of proofreading. It was most probably a mistake of the engraver of FE. The correct order of figurations in FE is additionally confirmed by the fingering written in FED in bar 251.

b. 294-295

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

e1 tied in FE (→EE), contextual interpretation

e1 repeated in GE

..

In the main text, we correct the minor inaccuracy of the notation of the rhythm in FE (→EE). The missing dot prolonging the e1 quaver in bar 294 could have also contributed to the omission of the tie of that note in GE, although, according to us, it is more likely that the tie was added by Chopin in the last stage of proofreading of FE. The crossing-out of the e1 quaver at the beginning of bar 295 visible in FEH emphasises that the note should not be played again in this place.

b. 294

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

..

In the 1st half of the bar in FE, the secondary beam is erroneously placed between the 2nd and 3rd notes of the bottom voice.

b. 312-313

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

b repeated in FE (→EE)

b tied in GE3

Tied b suggested by the editors

..

The missing tie of the b2 crotchet is almost certainly an oversight – the tie is in analogous bars 84-85 and in violins I in FEorch. Chopin's or the engraver's distraction is additionally proven by missing slurs in bars 309-314.

b. 320

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

Semiquaver b2 in FE (→GE1GE2)

Crotchet b2 in EE & GE3

..

The version of EE and GE3 is a revision unifying this bar with analogous bar 324. It cannot be ruled out that FE misinterpreted the notation of [A] in this place, hence that version may be considered an equal variant. However, in the main text we preserve the notation of FE (→GE1GE2), which, despite being apparently less accurate, suggests a performance nuance that was perhaps intended by Chopin.
