Slur in bar 54 in FE (→GE1GE2)

Slur from bar 53 in EE

Two slurs in GE3

The absence of a slur over the beginning of the ascending semiquaver fragment of the phrase must be considered an inaccuracy of notation, perhaps caused by the transition into a new line in FE. It results from a comparison with analogous figures – the discussed place is the only one in which those two semiquavers are not encompassed with a slur. The additions introduced both in EE and GE3 may be considered justified. In the main text, we suggest the first solution, since it is more frequent in the compared analogous bars.

In FE (→GE1GE2), the octave sign begins only just in the next bar. The patent mistake was corrected in EE straight away, yet only just in the second edition (GE3) of GE.

b. 64-67

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

Slur from bar 66 in FE (→GE1GE2)

Slur from bar 65 in EE

Slur from bar 64 in GE3

The slur of FE starts from the beginning of the line of text; at the same time, its beginning suggests continuation from the previous bar. That fact indicates that the initial part of the slur was overlooked, which we amend in the main text by starting the slur at the beginning of the two-part progression. The slur was identically prolonged in GE3.

b. 66

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt III

A cautionary natural before b2 is featured only in FE and EE2 (→EE3). Its absence in GE may mean that it was added in the last phase of proofreading of FE. In turn, EE1 most probably overlooked it, which was amended in the next impression.
