A slur in A

..

The slur in A clearly refers to the semiquaver motif; nonetheless, it begins from the crotchet  a flat2 at the beginning of the bar in GE (→FEEE).

b. 70-72

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

..

In FE (→EE), a cautionary  was added before g flatin both bars. In the main text we preserve the more rational notation of A (→GE).

b. 70

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

 in A

No hairpins in FE (→EE)

..

The hairpins  in A only relate to the ascending part of the semiquaver motif. The hairpins in GE, extended to the very end of the bar, give a definitely different suggestion for phrasing.  The mark was omitted from FE (→EE), most probably by mistake.

A more precise version of the fingering in GET

Fingering written into FES, bar 73

Fingering in FED

Complementary fingerings combined

Version without teaching fingering

..

In the main text we give the fingering collected from complementary entries in GET, FED and FES (the entry in FES relates to an analogous fragment in bar  73 – cf. General Editorial Principles, p. 17). The numeral 5 entered in GET over the second semiquaver of bar 71  definitely means the change of fingers on the a flatcrotchet, and therefore we add a tiny slur next to it.
