Issues : Accidentals in different octaves

b. 44

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

..

In the majority of sources there is no  raising f3 to f sharp3. The sharp was added only in GE2

For writing that note Chopin used 4 ledger lines (one too many). He corrected his mistake by deleting the lowest ledger line. Interestingly, it seems that the engraver of GE did not notice the correction, as that edition has got visible traces of moving the note head down by a third.

b. 52

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

..

When writing A, Chopin overlooked the fact that in the passage ending the run a  is necessary not only before the last note but also four notes earlier in order to lower c3 to c flat3 (or only before that earlier note, depending on the adopted principle for accidentals before notes with an octave sign). The error was corrected in GE (→FE) by moving the  before the fifth note counting from the end of the bar. In EE this corrected notation was supplemented by again adding the sign before the last note.
