b. 57

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

A long accent in A (→GE)

A short accent in  FE (→EE)

..

A long accent from A (→GE) was reproduced in FE (→EE) as a short one. This is certainly the engraver's inaccuracy.

A dot in A

No staccato sign in  GE (→FEEE)

The editors' variant proposal

In A, a dot can be seen above G flat that can be interpreted as a staccato sign. That dot is absent from the editions.

No  mark in A (→GEFE)

 in EE

The editors'  suggestion

..

After the  mark placed mid-bar, A (→GEFE) do not have . This is probably Chopin's oversight (bar. 57 is the last bar on the page in A, and such a situation is conducive to all types of mistakes and inaccuracies); therefore, we propose supplementation of pedal markings. The pedal release asterisk was added in that place already in EE.
