b. 41-43

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

 in A

Accents in FE

..

To highlight bass notes, in A Chopin used three  signs mid-bar in all those bars. In GE, the first sign was omitted, most probably by accident. In the proofing of FE Chopin removed the remaining two, adding instead an accent under each 1st note of each figure - the total of 6 signs. In EE, some of them were changed into vertical accents.

b. 41

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

No slur in A (→GEFE)

A slur added in EE

..

In EE, a slur was arbitrarily added in the first half of the bar for the upper voice. The addition makes musical sense, yet there are no grounds to consider it authentic.

b. 41

composition: Op. 27 No 2, Nocturne in D♭ major

..

In A (→GE1) there is no  raising A flat1 to A1. This inaccuracy was corrected in FE (→EE) and GE2. The natural was also added in GET.

We add cautionary flats before e flat1 and e flat2, as well as  before c2. The flats were also added in GE2 (including the one before e flat).

GE (→FEEE)

..

In GE (→FEEE) the extent of the dynamic marking , was considerably reduced and adjusted to the length of the quaver beam. We adopt that version because Chopin accepted it when correcting the dynamics of FE in this bar.
