b. 313-314

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

In A there is no  raising d1 to don the 4th quaver in bar 313, whereas the signs in bar 314 were added with pencil. In spite of the obvious accuracy of these additions, their authenticity is not certain, since other additions made with pencil in A were added rather by a foreign hand – cf. bar 256 and 310. All sources include a  raising dto din the last quaver in bar 313. We omit this sign in the main text, since after the oversight on the 4th quaver had been corrected, it became superfluous.

b. 315

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

..

Similarly as in bar 311, Chopin wrote the necessary naturals in A (→GE1FE) only in the first triplet (in both hands). In this bar, the necessary additions were introduced only in EE and GE2.

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

Slur to bar 316 in A

Slur in bar 315 in GE1 (→FE)

Slurs in bar 315 in EE

Slurs to bar 316 in GE2

..

Same as in bars 311-312, a shorter slur in GE1 (→FE) must be an inaccuracy, typical in this composition. EE added a similar slur in the L.H. In GE2 the slur was extended on the basis of A and an analogous one was added in the part of the L.H.

[a tempo] suggested by the editors

..

According to us, the chromatic descending scale must be performed a tempo. It is possible that Chopin had to be satisfied with the marking leggieremente, which suggests a change of approach – the passages in bars 311 and 315, in spite of the very neutral dynamics, are not associated with "lightness." The ritenuto appearing in bar 324 may be considered an additional argument for changing the tempo in bar 317.

leggieramente in A & GE2

leggiermente in GE1, contextual interpretation

leggieremente in FE

leggiero in EE

In the main text we adopt the newer form of this adverb, introduced in GE1 (we correct the erroneous 'o' at the end of the word to an 'e').
