composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

In the main text we omit the staccato dots of unknown origin in the 2nd half of the bar. According to us, it is highly unlikely that they were added by Chopin. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

b. 57-58
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I
..
Same as in bars 56-57 and in many others, the schematic slurs of GE1 (→FE→EE) reflect rather habits of the engraver of GE1 than the notation of A. However, it should be pointed out that although the slur in bar 57 (last on the page of A) leads clearly to the next bar, it has no continuation in bar 58. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions |

The slur of A is not absolutely unambiguous, yet its interpretation in GE1 (→FE→EE) is certainly erroneous. The slur in GE2 may be considered an acceptable interpretation; however, in the main text we assume that in A each of six slurs in bars 59-62 embraces a motif made of four semiquavers and a crotchet. b. 59-62
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I
..
In A the part of the L.H. is written in an abbreviated manner as a sequence of minims provided with signs of a quaver tremolo. In GE1 the notation was repeated only in bars 61-62. In the remaining editions all abbreviations were explained, as in the main text. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: GE revisions , Abbreviated notation of A , FE revisions |
