b. 53-54

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

Slur to b in A

Slur to c1 in GE (→FEEE)

..

The slur of A, although it does not exceed the bar line, undoubtedly concerns the three notes, hence the interpretation of the editions is certainly erroneous.

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

No slur in sources

Slur suggested by the editors

..

Starting from bar 51, the part of the L.H. is provided with slurs, even there where a slur of the R.H. can be considered to be applying to both hands (bars 54-55 and particularly bars 56-57). In this situation, we regard leaving it without slur in bars 55-56 as an inaccuracy, which may suggest the use of other articulation than legato in the bass, which would most probably be against Chopin's intention – cf. the slur in the bassoon part in Morch.
