Title: | Douze Etudes || Étude XII |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Agoult |
While performing a new typesetting of the Etudes, Op. 25, the Breitkopf & Härtel company introduced numerous changes into the score :
- the time signature was returned;
- range of dynamic hairpins was changed, often insignificantly, e.g., bar 7 and 52;
- erroneous notes in bars 13, 29 and 52 were corrected;
- in many places, the notation of accents was homogenised to a significant extent;
- dashes marking the range of cresc. in bars 35-42 were completed and dashes in bars 58-67 were added (partially on the basis of FC);
- slurring in bars 81-82 was corrected (on the basis of FC, yet inconsistently);
- a at the end of the Etude was added.
In GE2 particular Etudes were published also separately, provided with a collective cover, on which 12 etudes each by Chopin, Henselt and Thalberg were itemised.
