Title: | Douze Etudes || Étude IX |
Dedication: | Madame la Comtesse d'Agoult |
While performing a new typesetting of the Etudes, Op. 25, the Breitkopf & Härtel company introduced numerous changes into the note text:
- the overlooked in GE1 a note and accent in bar 8 were added;
- range of the dynamic hairpins was changed, often slightly, e.g., in bars 15-17;
- notation of accidentals was ordered, by completing the missing ones, e.g., in bars 9-10 and 12-13, by adding a number of cautionary accidentals, e.g., in bars 12 and 33, as well as by deleting the superfluous flats in bar 43;
- notation of bar 32 was corrected, by moving the sign and introducing ;
- in bar 37 was moved;
- the distorted tie sustaining d in bars 37-38 was corrected.
In GE2 particular Etudes were published also separately, provided with a collective cover, on which 12 etudes each by Chopin, Henselt and Thalberg were itemised.
