b. 23

composition: Op. 25 No 8, Etude in D♭ major

..

All sources include a  before g2. The sign does not seem to be necessary here, as it already appears in the previous bar.

b. 24-25

composition: Op. 25 No 8, Etude in D♭ major

Pedal sustained in A (→GE) & EE1

Pedal change in FE & EE2 (→EE3)

..

The change of pedal marked only in FE is opposed to the harmonic pedalling prevailing in this Etude and generally used by Chopin. Assuming an unidentified misunderstanding, to the main text we adopt the version of A (→GE) and EE1 (the later EE repeat the notation of FE), in which the entire spread chord resounds on pedal.

b. 24-25

composition: Op. 25 No 8, Etude in D♭ major

cresc. - - in A (→GE)

cresc. - - in FE

cre - scen - do in EE

..

Out of the three most probably authentic, slightly differing variants of placement of the cresc. - - indication we choose the version of FE as combining their most reliable elements – earlier beginning (FE and EE) and earlier ending (A and FE). It is worth observing that the fact of writing the cres abbreviation earlier in A was related to an impending smearing of the part of the L.H., which could have had an influence on the "compromise" shift of the indication.
The division of the indication into syllables may be an arbitrary action of the engraver of EE.

b. 25-26

composition: Op. 25 No 8, Etude in D♭ major

Single notes in A (→GE) & EE1

Octaves in FE

Octaves in EE2 (→EE3)

..

Chopin doubled the bass progression in the bottom octave in the proofreading of FE (cf. bar 19, in which Chopin also reinforced the bass note, adding an octave). The change, which is certainly to be considered to be final, was also introduced – in the form of added quavers under notes – in EE2 (→EE3).
The missing staccato dot (as well as accent) in FE is most probably a result of an imprecisely performed proofreading.

b. 25

composition: Op. 25 No 8, Etude in D♭ major

Long accent in A (→GE1)

Short accent in EE & GE2 (→GE3)

No mark in FE

..

The long accent in A (→GE1) was added in GE2 (→GE3), as well as in EE, as short. FE omitted the sign, which may be an inaccuracy resulting from introducing changes in print (similarly as in the case of the staccato dot – see the adjacent note).
