Title: | Deux Polonaises pour le piano | Polonaise 2 |
Dedication: | son ami J. Dessauer |
First German edition, based on FE1. GE1 most probably was not corrected by Chopin, although the change from d2(3) to d2(3) in the grupetto in bar 10 and analog. seems to be puzzling, as a few years later Chopin wrote down this change, while developing the Polonaise with one of his pupils, Vera Kologrivoff-Rubio.
GE1 includes numerous inaccuracies and mistakes, e.g.:
- no in bar 10;
- omission of the majority of staccato dots in bars 7-8 and all in bars 55-56;
- no ties in bars 41-42.
There are also numerous revisions, aiming generally at unifying the repeating fragments. A revision seems also to be – in spite of concordance with A – the addition of b on the last quaver in bar 13 and analog.
The visible in this copy numerous entries made in pencil are of no source value.
