Title: | Deux Polonoises favorites || No. 2 |
Dedication: | son ami J. Dessauer |
EE1 was developed on the basis of FE2 and it was released in print in 1837. The edition was revised in a quite detailed manner, i.a., numerous accidentals were added, both necessary (e.g., in bars 30 and 31) and cautionary (e.g., in bar 10). Moreover, other arbitrary revisions were introduced, e.g., staccato dots were added in bar 95.
EE1 did not avoid mistakes, as, e.g., swapped accidentals before the last chord in the R.H. in bar 73 and 77 or an overlooked pedalling indication in bar 137.
The copy presented in mUltimate Chopin comes from the latest known impression, with a collective cover, on which the work (Op. 26) was described as "Les favorites" Deux Polonoises, moreover, the dedication was overlooked.
The visible in the presented copy annotations in pencil are of no source value.
