b. 74-78

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

..

GE2 (→GE3GE4) and EE2 added a cautionary  next to d1 in the chord at the beginning of bars 74 and 78. The addition is justified only when preserving the original orthography of the last chord in bars 73 and 77.

b. 74-75

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

4 staccato dots in A

1 dot in FE

No marks in GE1

6 dots in EE & GE2 (→GE3GE4)

..

In the 1st half of bar 75 Chopin probably considered staccato dots written under the part of the R.H. to be valid also in the left. In the 2nd half of bar 74, omission of the majority of dots in the L.H. in FE is almost certainly a mistake; the only printed dot (over c) was probably removed in GE1. EE and subsequent GE added dots in the L.H. in the entire motif, which almost certainly corresponds to Chopin's intention.

b. 75-76

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

..

The second half of bar 75 and the 1st quaver in bar 76 are provided with staccato dots in the part of the R.H. in A. Chopin removed them in the proofreading of FE1 – see the next note.

b. 75-76

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

Dots & slur from bar 76 in A

Slur from bar 75 in FE (→GE,EE)

..

In the main text we give the longer slur, with which Chopin replaced staccato dots and the shorter slur of A in the proofreading of FE1. He introduced similar changes in almost all analogous places.
