On the 2nd and 3rd crotchet FE and GE1 have empty a-e1 fifths. It is undoubtedly an omission of the engraver of FE – cf. analogous bars 30 and 202 – it could have been caused by the unclear notation of [A]. Chopin probably added the chords in the base text to EE. The corrected version, probably on the basis of a comparison with the mentioned bars, was introduced also in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , GE revisions , Uncertain notes on ledger lines , Authentic corrections of EE |

In FE there are no crotchets in the topmost voice. The stems may have been overlooked by the engraver. Chopin did not correct the error in FEG, yet in spite of that GE1 (→GE2→GE3) includes the correct version. The crotchets are also in EE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE |

The lack of pedalling in EE in bars 41-44 is most probably due to an oversight—these bars, which begin a new musical thought, are last on the page, while the preceding fragment is written without pedal markings. The inadvertence could have happened to the engraver of EE or Chopin himself while preparing the Stichvorlage for EE. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: Authentic corrections of FE , Authentic corrections of EE |
