EE3 - Corrected impression of EE2
Publisher: | Wessel & Co. |
Date: | 1836-1837 |
Title: | Douze Grandes Etudes || No. VI |
Dedication: | ses amis J. Liszt et Ferd. Hiller |
Corrected impression of EE2 in which the majority of its defects were corrected, e.g., the overlooked accidentals, accents and fingering were added (see the characteristics of EE2). Moreover, slurs were completed: in the R.H. in bars 23-24, 27-28 and 42, in the L.H. in bars 1, 27-28, 40-43.
EE3 was renewed on a number of occasions with different covers. In the presented copy, the cover includes the information on the already published Etudes Op. 25, thus it dates back at least to 1838. In even later copies provided only with the collective cover of the "Wessel & Co's Complete Collection of the Compositions of Frederick Chopin" series, the dedication is shortened – without "ses amis" and only with the initial of (F) Hiller.
