b. 36

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor

..

A has a cautionary  before aand not before d1. The accidental before d1, which is more justified, was added in the last proofreading of FE (→EE), as well as in GE2 and subsequent GE,s. In the main text we omit the first of the aforementioned accidentals.

b. 38

composition: Op. 10 No 6, Etude in E♭ minor

..

In the second half of the bar A (→FEGE1GE1aGE2GE3) features accidentals effective from the first half— before c1 and  before a and f. Two first of these signs are also found in EE (in EE4 the last one was also added). These accidentals, unnecessarily written in by Chopin, were removed in GE4 (→GE5).

Crotchet in A (→FEGE1)

Dotted crotchet in EE

Crotchet & rest in GE2 (→GE3GE4GE5)

..

In A (→FEGE1) the rhythmic values of the upper voice do not fill the 2nd half of the bar, as the d1-f1 third is a common crotchet. According to us, an oversight of the dots extending the crotchet are more likely in this situation. This is how it was interpreted in EE, adding the dots. In subsequent GE,s a quaver rest was added.

Long accents in A

Short accents in FE (→GE)

Short accent in EE

..

The accents in A are undoubtedly long here, which was, however, erroneously reproduced in FE (→GE). In EE the second mark was omitted, certainly by accident.
