In the main text we do not include the wedge added in the editions over the 2nd crotchet. It is true that the mark is present in A in bar 8, but the set of markings in that bar is clearly different than the one here or in bar 191. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

As was the case with the preceding chord, Chopin's oversight seems much more likely than an intentional omission of the arpeggio. category imprint: Editorial revisions |

b. 376-378

In bar 376 and 378 in the main text we keep the notation of the A slurs, as the comparison with analogous bar 10, 12 and 193 shows that Chopin – although he did not mark it here – most probably envisioned the initial octave to be performed staccato. However, one can understand the engraver of GE, who considered the A notation to be another case of inaccurate slurs (particularly the slur in bar 378, the ending of which is certainly inaccurate). category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , GE revisions |
