Pedalling
b. 2-17
|
composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
In bars 2-3, 12-13 and 16-17, in the main text we include the unanimous pedalling added by Chopin to A (→GE) and added at the stage of proofreading FE2 (→EE). The fact that the markings were added to A most probably after [FC] had already been prepared is proven by their absence in FE1. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 18
|
composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
As in bars 2-17, the missing pedalling in FE1 indicates that it was added to A after [FC] had been finished. Chopin also added pedalling while proofreading FE2 (→EE). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Authentic corrections of FE |

b. 19-20
|
composition: Op. 49, Fantaisie in F minor
..
The pedal markings in these bars (as well as in the subsequent ones, until bar 42) were added to A almost certainly after [FC] had already been finished, which explains their absence in FE (→EE1), based on this copy. It is difficult to imagine that an entire page of markings could have been overlooked; the same applies to the possibility of the markings having been removed from [FC] or FE. In GE the A notation was reproduced with a minor inaccuracy – the first category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: EE revisions , Inaccuracies in GE , GE revisions , No pedal release mark |

The missing pedal change on the 3rd beat must be a mistake by the reviser or the engraver of EE2. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in EE |
