EE1 reproduces the text of FE with minimal changes. Chopin did not participate in its preparation. The differences with respect to FE include:
- added accidentals, mainly cautionary, e.g. in bar 4, 69, 78, 132;
- corrections of patent defects of FE, not always accurate, e.g. removal of the erroneous slur in bars 19-20;
- change of in tempo to a tempo in bar 41 and 57,
- addition of L.H. slurs in bars 54 and 56,
- change of accent font, e.g. long to short in bars 133-136;
- own mistakes, e.g. the overlooked L.H. little slur in bar 52.
Many mistakes of FE that could be detected remained uncorrected, e.g. the erroneous notes in bar 47 and 94 or the overlooked arpeggios in bars 113-115.
The quite numerous fingering digits (written according to the "English system") visible in the presented copy are of no source value.
