b. 67

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

In A the lower arm of the hairpins is slightly longer, yet their range is clear – they reach the last note in the bar. FE is lacking the crescendo hairpins. In EE they were put over the upper pentagram, which can stem from the notation of the lost base text (we find a similar manner of the hairpins' notation in A in bar 51).

b. 69-70

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

The sources differ in the range of the crescendo hairpins. In A the place of their ending is uncertain – the upper arm reaches the bar line, while the lower one reaches the minim in bar 70. In GE the hairpins were placed in entire bar 69. In FE the beginning of crescendo was put under the last quaver of the 1st triplet group, while in EE – at the beginning of the 2nd group. We adopt the notation of A, taking into account the longer arm of the hairpins.
