b. 75

composition: Op. 29, Impromptu in A♭ major

..

The sources differ slightly, as far as the range of the crescendo hairpins is concerned. The indication in GE, which clearly starts earlier, is probably a result of misunderstanding of A where the beginning of the indication blends with the slur in the L.H.

The sources differ in the range of the dynamic hairpins. In FE the hairpins were slightly shortened in comparison with A (→GE), whereas in EE they begin in the middle of the bar and end on the 1st beat of the next bar. We adopt the notation of A (→GE).

FE is lacking the staccato sign over the opening octave. Most probably it is an oversight.

In A the staccato is clearly determined with a wedge which was also recreated in FE. In GE the wedge was changed into a dot. The staccato dot is also in EE.

The clearly long accent in A was recreated in GE as a short one; the similar situation can be found in FE and EE.
