Issues : Accidentals in different octaves

b. 215-217

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

In bar 215, there is no  raising d1 to din FE. There is a similar situation in bar 217, where, in addition, there is no  raising d to d. These patent inaccuracies were corrected in the remaining editions.

b. 216

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

..

The last three semiquavers in A (→GE1FE) are devoid of accidentals. This inaccurate notation, characteristic for Chopin particularly in his early pieces, was corrected in EE and GE2.
Moreover, in FE there is no  before c2, which was added in EE. In A there is no  before cin the part of the L.H. The sign was added in GE (→FEEE), although it is not necessary in this layout (similarly as the two previous signs in the part of the L.H.).

b. 217

composition: Op. 42, Waltz in A♭ major

..

In the entire bar FE0 (→FE,FEG) has only two cautionary accidentals: a  lowering g2 to g2 on the 3rd quaver and a  raising a1 to a1 in the L.H. Out of three undoubtedly overlooked signs in the R.H., it is the lack of the  raising a1 to a1 at the beginning of the bar that is most striking; the accidental was added in pencil in FED, it was also added in GE and EE. In both editions a  was added also before the last quaver, yet the fully correct notation is only in GE.

b. 217-218

composition: Op. 22, Polonaise

..

In the main text we add a cautionary  before b2 in b. 73. The accidental was already added in GE as well as in EE2. In addition, we add the flats (overlooked in FE) lowering c1 to c1 in b. 73 and c to c in b. 74. The former was added both in GE and EE, whereas the latter only in GE and EE2.

b. 217-219

composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor

..

In A (→FE) there are no sharps raising f2(3) to f2(3) in b. 217 and 219. The inaccuracy, typical of Chopin, was corrected by GE and EE. Chopin wrote in A cautionary naturals to a1 in both bars and to a in b. 219; they were repeated by all editions. FE (→GE,EE) also added a  to a1 in b. 217. In the main text we include all these accidentals.
Moreover, GE added in both bars a cautionary  also to a2.
