b. 281-282

composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt IV

Slur from c1 to g1 in A, literal reading

Slur from c1 to a1 in GE (→FE,EE,IE)

..

It is difficult to imagine that the literal interpretation of the A slur, which does not include 3 (or 2) outermost quavers belonging to the chromatic scale, could have corresponded to Chopin's intention. Therefore, we consider it one of the many inaccuracies of A in this respect; in the main text we include the interpretation of this slur adopted to GE (→FE,EE,IE).

composition: (Op. 4), Sonata in C minor, Mvt IV

Wedge in A (→GEFE,IE)

Fingering digit in EE

..

It is difficult to determine whether the addition of the fingering digit in EE influenced the omission of the wedge, or whether the wedge was mistakenly read as the digit 1, meaning finger 2. It is also possible that the wedge was overlooked and the digit was added independently, along with the other digits in the previous two bars.
