b. 180-181
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In spite of the lack of the ending of the slur in b. 181, which opens a new page in A, the clearly dragged ending of the slur in b. 180 leaves no doubt about Chopin's intention (there is a similar situation in analogous b. 631). However, it is not as obvious in FC, so in GE the slur was led only to the end of b. 180. The inaccurate notation of A was repeated unchanged in FE, whereas in EE the slur was clearly led to b. 181; moreover, an arbitrary analogous slur was added under the stave: see the note on pedalling in b. 179-180. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Inaccurate slurs in A , Uncertain slur continuation |

b. 180-188
|
composition: Op. 50 No. 3, Mazurka in C♯ minor
..
The L.H. slurs in b. 180-182 and 185-188 must be a Chopinesque improvement from [AG] (→GE). Cf. b. 173-176. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations |

b. 180
|
composition: Op. 23, Ballade in G minor
..
GE2 (→GE3→GE4) added a digit 3 over the first quaver, as if it constituted a part of the triplet with the next one, as in all subsequent, similar motifs. However, a respective rest is missing; moreover, the notes were not moved with respect to the L.H. part, which points to an unfinished change (intended and arbitrary) or to a mistake of the engraver or reviser (which seems more likely). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , GE revisions |

As in the preceding bar, in the main text we do not include the additional slur under the quaver triplet, entered into A and omitted by FE (→GE,EE). Cf. General Editorial Principles, p. 16. category imprint: Editorial revisions issues: Triplet slurs |
