b. 153-154

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

Slur in A (→FE) & GE

No slur in GC & EE

..

GC and EE overlook the slur in the L.H. Despite the error of GC, the revisers of GE added the slur after analogous bars 145-146, which do not raise any doubts.

b. 153-155

composition: Op. 38, Ballade in F major

Continuous slur in A (→GCGE)

New slur from bar 154 in FE

New slur from bar 155 in EE

..

Discontinuous slurs in FE and EE are probably inaccurate due to the line breaks in A and FE. The engraver of FE presumably reproduced a slur over the last two bars in a line, what corresponds to bars 153-154 in A, but 154-155 in FE. The slurs in EE result most likely from misinterpretation of a slur which is notated over two lines in A.

b. 153-155

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

Slurs in bar 155 in A (→FE)

R.H. slurs in GE1

4 slurs in EE & GE2 (→GE3GE4

..

Bar 153 is marked in A as repetition of bar 49. However, contrary to that bar, here FE did not complete the slurs in the 1st half of the bar, which has to be considered to be an oversight. GE1 added a slur in the R.H. only, the remaining editions – both. In bar 155 there is no slur in the L.H. in GE1, which is probably an oversight of the engraver.
