b. 59

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major

A in AI, FE2 (→EE) & GE3

A in FE1 (→GE1GE2)

..

As was the case with d/d in bars 58-60, 62 and 63, the version of FE1 with A on the last quaver in the bar is almost certainly erroneous. Chopin did not include in the notation the necessary  after the change of the key signature in bar 33, which is proven by the compliance of the versions (written down differently) of AI and FE2 (→EE), which was proofread by Chopin. The version of FE1 was repeated in GE1 (→GE2), while the  added in GE3 was most probably drawn from FE2.

b. 60

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major

Longer slur in AI

Shorter slur in FE (→EE,GE)

..

As in bar 56, we consider the ending of the slur reaching only the 2nd quaver in bar 60 to be an inaccuracy, and in the main text we lead the slur to the minim, as it is in AI. The range of the slur in GE is unclear, since its ending is very thin and hardly noticeable. The slur points at the minim stem; however, we take into account what can be actually seen in a score placed at a music stand.

b. 61-64

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major

c1 tied 4 bars in AI, FE2 (→EE) & GE3

c1 repeated 4 times in FE1

c1 tied 3 bars in GE1 (→GE2)

..

The missing ties to c1 in FE1 are most probably an oversight by the engraver, corrected in FE2 (→EE). The version of GE1 (→GE2) is probably a revision resulting from an analysis of the ties to the top L.H. notes in bars 53-64, which we discuss in more details in the note to bar 55. In GE3 a third tie was added, perhaps under the influence of FE2.

b. 61

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major

..

In the main text we add a cautionary  to b1, as it was performed in GE3.

composition: Op. 63 No. 1, Mazurka in B major

Continuous, six-bar slur in AI

Shorter slurs in FE (→GE,EE)

..

Unlike in the preceding 8 bars, in this case Chopin did not introduce any changes to the slurs while proofreading FE2. Therefore, in the main text we keep the version of FE1 and the remaining sources.
The ending of the slur of AI is way too long – it reaches the rest in the middle of bar 67.
