b. 302-303

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

Slur in GE1 (literal reading→GE2)

No slur in FE (→GE)

Slur in GE1, contextual interpretation

Slur based on FE, our alternative suggestion

..

In the manuscripts these bars were almost certainly marked in an abridged manner as a repetition of b. 68-70. It means that FE (→EE) overlooked the slur here, present in those editions in b. 69-70 (or rather its complete version, since in those bars, in turn, the part of the slur falling on b. 70 was overlooked). We suggest such a slur as an alternative version, while in the main text we give a possible contextual interpretation of the notation of GE1, according to which we consider the slur going beyond the second out of the last four quavers in b. 303 to reach the end of the bar, in accordance with the slurs of FE in b. 44 and 277.

b. 303

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

Quavers e-b in GE

Quavers c-e-b in FE (→EE)

..

In the main text we include the c notes added in the four quaver chords at the time of proofreading of FE (→EE), almost certainly by Chopin.

b. 303

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

 in GE

in FE (→EE)

..

In GE the trill is written down without a wavy line after the  mark. In the main text we give the more suggestive version of FE (→EE).

b. 304-305

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

No slur in GE & FE (→EE)

Slur suggested by editors

..

The absence of the slur in the sources was most probably caused by Chopin's oversight in [A]. More details in the note to b. 19-20.

b. 304

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

No markings in sources

Pedalling suggested by the editors

..

Like in b. 45, 71 and 278, in the main text we suggest adding pedal markings after b. 19.
