b. 69

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

..

Due to the lowermost ledger line having been overlooked, the bottom note of the L.H. crotchet looks like G1 in FE1. The mistake was corrected both in FE2 and EE.

b. 70

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

Quavers e-b in GE & FE (→EE1)

Quavers c-e-b in EE2

..

In the 4 quaver chords, we add here c notes in accordance with the changes Chopin introduced while proofreading FE (→EE1) in all analogous places – b. 18, 44, 277 and 303. The missing notes in the discussed bar must be considered a mistake in this context (quite typical of Chopin – cf. numerous examples tagged relevantly). The notes were also added in EE2, most probably on the basis of a comparison with analogous bars.

b. 70-72

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

 in GE

in FE (→EE)

..

The trills in b. 70 and 72 were written in GE without a wavy line after . In the main text we follow the more suggestive notation of FE (→EE).

b. 70

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

Lower R.H. voice in GE1 & FE (→EE)

No lower voice in GE2

..

The GE2 version, without the lower R.H. voice on the first beat, is a side effect of this voice having been moved to the upper staff in this bar.

b. 71-72

composition: Op. 44, Polonaise in F♯ minor

No slur in GE & FE (→EE)

Slur suggested by editors

..

The absence of a slur must have resulted from Chopin's oversight in [A], hence in the main text we suggest adding a slur after analogous b. 45-46 and 278-279. A similar situation is in b. 304-305.
