ACh - Autograph Cheremeteff
Date: | 20 V 1845 |
Title: | [Prélude] |
Dedication: | None |
Autograph contained in an album of Anna Cheremietieff, dated “Paris, 20 May 1845”.
The notation of slurs may raise doubts in a few places, since they begin (b. 2) or end (b. 4, 8 and 12) in musically unjustified places. It most probably resulted from ink stoppage, which is indicated by gaps in crotchet stems between staves. A reliable interpretation is also hampered by poor quality of the accessible photos of ACh and no access to the original document. The beginnings of the L.H. slurs in b. 5 and 9 are particularly problematic, since indicating the beginning of a characteristic passus duriusculus with a slur would be quite justified, musically speaking.
