CGS - Copy by George Sand
Date: | (VIII 1839-1854) |
Title: | [Prélude] |
Dedication: | None |
Copy made by George Sand (photocopy in: K. Kobylańska, Rękopisy utworów Chopina, Cracow 1977), the fourth of six Preludes copied by the novelist in an extensive album containing pieces by various composers, written down by different persons. It is unclear what the basis for CGS was – unlike in a few other Preludes entered into this album, FE2, although possible, is less justified:
- division of the text into lines differs;
- differences concerning the text, hard to explain – above all, the restoring e1 at the end of b. 3, but also in b. 13.
Dating – see the Prelude in A minor no. 2.
