b. 32-33

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

In FCI, in the bottom R.H. voice the e1-b1 fifth is repeated until the end of b. 33. According to us, as was the case with the changes to the length of the phrase and to the top voice rhythm (see the notes above), it is also this harmonic version that deviates too much from the final shape of this section and cannot be considered an independent variant.

b. 33-34

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

In FCI in the 2nd half of b. 33, the bottom R.H. voice and the L.H. part are marked in an abridged manner as a repetition of respective figures from the 1st half of the bar. The same applies to the bottom voice in the 2nd half of b. 34, which is almost certainly inaccurate – on the 1st quaver in the bar the g1 note is played by the L.H., as a result of which it is not encompassed with the repeat sign placed in the R.H. part. In the substantive transcription (version "editors") we expand the abbreviation including that note on the 4th quaver.

b. 33

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

In A (→FE) there are only 3 flats before the 1st chord – e2c2 in the R.H. and a1 in the L.H. In FC and EE1 lowering c1 to c1 and a cautionary one before a were added, while in GE and EE2 a cautionary  before e1 was also added.
The necessary  lowering c1 to c1 was added in FED.

b. 33

composition: Op. 28 No. 17, Prelude in A♭ major

..

In FC (→GE1) the tremolo beam was omitted in the abbreviated notation of repeated quavers. As a result, the L.H. chord is played there only once, at the beginning of the bar. The mistake was corrected in GE2 (→GE3). The beam visible in FC – written most probably in pencil – is a later addition by H. Scholtz.
