FE2 - Corrected impression of FE1

Publisher: Adolphe Catelin et Cie
Date: (VIII⇒) 1839
Plate number: Ad. C. (560) et Cie
Title: 24 Préludes
Dedication: Son ami Camille Pleyel

FE2 was printed not long after FE1. In the entire Op. 28, FE2 contains some alterations, mostly corrections of the errors of FE1. Most probably they were also made by J. Fontana although it is not possible to entirely exclude the participation of Chopin, indirect as it may have been. A comprehensive list of changes as well as more information on FE3 (the later reprint of FE2 issued by the publisher Brandus et Cie) – see the description of FE2 in Prelude in C no. 1.

In Prelude in D the most important change is the addition of  overlooked in FE1 in bar 84. A change in the graphic arrangement of the two R.H. voices in bars 36-38 and analog., enhancing their legibility, was also performed. In b. 76 the dots prolonging the d1-f1 minim, overlooked in FE1, were added.
