b. 211-212

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

The missing tie of c2 is probably an oversight of Chopin in A (→FC→GE1) – those are the last bars on the page, which favours distraction. The tie was added by Chopin in the proofreading of FE (→EE) as well as in GE2 (→GE3), probably on the basis of analogy with b. 79-80. category imprint: Differences between sources; Corrections & alterations issues: GE revisions , Errors of A , Authentic corrections of FE |

The version of FE (→EE) is almost certainly erroneous:

b. 267-268
|
composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor
..
In FE b. 267 closes the line of the text. There are no ties of the R.H. minims, f-f1, therein, whereas in b. 268 it is only the tie of f that was finished. These are patent mistakes. EE ignored that partial tie while adding a tie of f1, probably on the basis of comparison with an analogous place in b. 271-272, where FE has only the tie of f1. All necessary ties in the discussed bars were added in FESf. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , EE revisions , Errors in FE , Annotations in FESf |

b. 271-272

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

The missing tie of f in FE (→EE) is another of the series of the mistakes of FE, concerning the ties in this section of the Scherzo, which has just begun. This time it was also the engraver of GE1 that committed a mistake. A corresponding tie was added in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Errors in GE , GE revisions |

composition: Op. 31, Scherzo in B♭ minor

The omitted ties in FE (→EE) and FC (→GE1) must be mistakes. The tie of E was added in GE2 (→GE3), most probably on the basis of comparison with the analogous places. A tie next to g was added only just in FESf. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , GE revisions , Errors of FC , Annotations in FESf |
