In FE, there is no accidental before the 8th semiquaver in the R.H., which requires it to be interpreted as e3. This kind of distortion of a regular, virtuoso sequence is unimaginable. Therefore, the reviser of GE was certainly right to add a before this note. However, EE did not correct this oversight, so typical of Chopin. category imprint: Interpretations within context; Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Omissions to cancel alteration , GE revisions , Errors repeated in EE |

In GE and EE2 (→EE3), a cautionary was added before c4. Moreover, in GE, a cautionary was added before d3, the antepenultimate semiquaver. We introduce the latter into the main text. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions issues: EE revisions , GE revisions |

In the main text, we add a cautionary before the 8th semiquaver, b1. The mark was added both in GE and EE; in both editions, a lowering this note to b1 was initially added. In EE, this routine revision, unsuitable in this context, was detected still before EE1 had been published (probably thanks to Fontana), whereas in GE, the mistake was corrected only just in GE2 (→GE3). category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , Errors in GE , GE revisions |

In FE, there are visible traces of corrections concerning the last four top semiquavers in the L.H. – b2-b2-a2-g2. Initially, it was an a2-a2-b2-b2 sequence that was printed here, certainly by mistake, which is a respective fragment of the previous bar. category imprint: Source & stylistic information issues: Authentic corrections of FE |
