Verbal indications

b. 315-316

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

 in FE (→EE)

 in GE1 (→GE2)

 in GE3

..

In FE (→EE), the placement of the  marks suggests that the first one concerns the R.H., whereas the second one, the L.H. Since it does not seem likely that such differentiation could be intended by Chopin in this context, both marks are probably misplaced. In the main text, we move them to between the staves, since, according to us, they refer to both hands. Changes striving in that direction were gradually introduced in GE1 (→GE2) and GE3. See also the adjacent note.

b. 315-316

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

 under L.H. part in sources

 suggested by the editors

..

Just like in the case of the  marks, assigning both  marks to the L.H. is most probably a result of lack of space between the staves of FE.

b. 323

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

crescendo under L.H. in FE (→EE,GE1GE2)

crescendo between staves in GE3

..

In this context, the crescendo marking certainly refers to the parts of both hands, hence placing it under the bottom stave most probably resulted from lack of space between the staves in FE or perhaps also in [A] (cf. the indications in bars 324-326). Due to this reason, in the main text we move this indication to between the staves; the change was introduced already in GE3. In GE and EE, the indication was given the form of a standard abbreviation.

b. 329

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

..

The traces of removing the third , visible in FE, prove that it was  that was the original dynamic marking in this place.

b. 334-339

composition: Op. 11, Concerto in E minor, Mvt I

sempre forte in FE (→GE,EE)

(sempre forte) suggested by the editors

..

According to us, a double appearance of an identical indication (sempre forte) four bars apart may be a mistake of the engraver, who, apart from the correct place, unnecessarily repeated the indication a line higher or lower. Due to this reason, in the main text, we give the indication in bars 334-335 in a variant form (in brackets), being less justified after the  in the previous bar.
In GE and EE, in both places, forte was replaced with a conventional  mark.
