A slur in GE (→FEEE)

Possible reading of A

The inaccurately drawn slurs in A are among major editorial problems in this Nocturne. For instance, the first slur of that  bar could be understood as embracing 2 or 3 quavers. Two examples of slurs that are definitely  too short can be seen in bar 6 ( the 3rd and the 5th slur of that bar); also, the slur beginning at the end of bar 14 seems too short, which is confirmed by its later prolongation in the proofing of GE (made probably on the basis of Chopin's remarks). Chopin's correction of the last slur of that bar allows one to presume that also the slur discussed here has been accepted by the composer as embracing three quavers.
