A corrected impression of EE1, dated for 1841-1846, with a changed cover and without dedication. The publisher corrected a number of mistakes and inaccuracies:
- the overlooked ending of the slur in bar 133 was added,
- the necessary accidentals in bars 173 and 414 were added,
- hairpins in bars 210-211, 281-283, 414-415 were added,
- the erroneous pitch of a note in bar 341 was corrected,
- a staccato dot in bar 400 was added.
In addition, the revisers introduced a few arbitrary changes, often as a result of comparison with similar bars:
and dolce were added at the beginning of bars 52 and 360,- slurs were added in bars 52-62, 69-70, 256-259, 288,
- an a tempo indication was placed in bars 295 and 380,
- dynamic markings in bars 66-67 were added,
- pedalling in bar 447 was added.
The decision to introduce a grupetto in bar 136 was totally arbitrary.
The copy presented in mUltimate Chopin comes from the earliest impression from the beginning of 1841.
