The version of GE1 is almost certainly a Terzverschreibung, since nothing points to a possibility of a Chopinesque proofreading of that edition. It was already GE2 that considered it a mistake. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , Terzverschreibung error , GE revisions |

c2 as the last semiquaver in FE (→GE1,EE) is most probably a mistake – cf. analogous bar 251. It is confirmed by the Chopinesque correction performed in pencil in FEJ. In turn, the reviser of GE2 removed the harmonic inconsistency with the L.H. part, yet he did not take into account the melodic structure of the figuration. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Errors in EE , Errors in GE , Terzverschreibung error , Annotations in FEJ |

It seems unlikely that Chopin would have wanted to change here a fixed accompaniment scheme with E, e and B notes as the ostinato bass figure. Therefore, the g note featured in the sources as the 2nd quaver is almost certainly a typical Terzverschreibung mistake. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in FE , Terzverschreibung error , Errors repeated in GE , Errors repeated in EE |
