c1-e1 in GE1

The version of GE1 is almost certainly a Terzverschreibung, since nothing points to a possibility of a Chopinesque proofreading of that edition. It was already GE2 that considered it a mistake.

c2 as the last semiquaver in FE (→GE1,EE) is most probably a mistake – cf. analogous bar 251. It is confirmed by the Chopinesque correction performed in pencil in FEJ. In turn, the reviser of GE2 removed the harmonic inconsistency with the L.H. part, yet he did not take into account the melodic structure of the figuration.

It seems unlikely that Chopin would have wanted to change here a fixed accompaniment scheme with E, e and B notes as the ostinato bass figure. Therefore, the g note featured in the sources as the 2nd quaver is almost certainly a typical Terzverschreibung mistake.
