Slurs in FE (→EE), contextual interpretation

Slurs in GE

..

Before the first semiquaver of bar 336 (which starts the new line), FE (→EE) has an ending of slur from above. However, the slur in bar 335 reaches only the last semiquaver in that bar, almost certainly by mistake – cf. slurs in bars 327-328. The inconsistency of slurring was removed in GE by omitting the end of slur in bar 336, and starting a new slur from the 1st note of this bar. This is certainly an arbitrary revision.

e3 in FE (→GE1,EE1)

d3 in GE2 i EE2 (→EE3)

..

e3 as the 5th semiquaver in FE (→GE1,EE1) is almost certainly a mistake – disturbing a regular progression is both harmonically and melodically unjustified. The engraver's mistake could have been provoked by resemblance of the 2nd half of that bar to the 1st half of the next one – such a hypothesis is confirmed by visible traces of removal of the  from before a3, the 7th semiquaver in bar 341, in FE. The revisers of GE2 and EE2 (→EE3) corrected that note.

Dashes to beginning of bar in FE (→EE)

Dashes to end of bar in GE

In GE, the dashes marking the range of crescendo are led to the end of bar. It is an arbitrary revision.
