b. 195
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
In the main text we give the slur of A, embracing the entire phrase marked con anima in bars 195-196. GE1 (→FE→EE) reproduced only the part embracing bar 196, perhaps due to the erroneous reproduction of the tie of a category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE |

The slur of GE1 (→FE→EE), contrary to the unquestionable notation of A, probably stems from a misunderstanding of the notation of A in the previous bar. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , GE revisions |

b. 197-199
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III

The slurs of GE1 (→FE→EE) are a characteristic example of a schematic approach to slurs – two whole-bar slurs were printed instead of the precisely written Chopin phrase mark. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Errors in GE , GE revisions |

b. 197-198
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
The slurs in the L.H. added in GE1 (→FE→EE) are most probably inauthentic – the division on the bar line (after the slurs in the R.H.) certainly is not in line with Chopin's intention. Assuming that a possible Chopin proof entry in GE1 was implemented inaccurately, one could consider the slur of GE2 to be in line with his intention. However, it would be then obscure why Chopin did not order to correct the slurs in the R.H. at that time. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: GE revisions |

b. 199-201
|
composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt III
..
In A bar 199 is the last one on the page, which contributed to the fact that the range of the slur in the L.H. is vague – the slur started in this bar suggests continuation, yet there is no ending thereof on the next page. The inaccuracy was corrected in GE1 (→FE→EE), perhaps at Chopin's request; however, it is questionable that he would be thinking about a slur that would not embrace the last note of this scale passage (cf. the slurs in the R.H. in this place). Due to this fact, it is the slur led to the beginning of bar 201, in accordance with GE2, that we adopt to the main text. category imprint: Graphic ambiguousness; Differences between sources issues: Inaccurate slurs in A , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of GE , Corrected slurs of Op. 21 in GE1 |
