b. 28

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

Slur c2-b2 in A (literal reading) & GE2

Slur d2-b2 in A, contextual interpretation

Slur c2-a2 in GE1 (→FEEE)

..

The starting point of the slur is unclear in A. According to us, it is more likely that it was supposed to run from the dcrotchet, yet the interpretation adopted in GE2 is also possible. An earlier ending of the slur in the remaining editions must be considered an inaccuracy.

b. 28

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

..

In A there is no  raising d to d. The use of din the part of the R.H. proves Chopin's mistake, corrected already in GE1 (→FEEE, →GE2).

B-c-e-g in A

B-d-e-g in GE & EE

Different chords in FE

..

The version of GE is almost certainly erroneous: the engraver of GE1 generalised the pattern of the previous bars, in which the chords are unchanged. The version is contrary both to A and Morch, in which in the oboe and 2nd violin parts there is cafter the preceding it d2. FE repeated the mistake of GE1 and added a new one, by overlooking in the last chord. A possibility of a Chopin proofreading in any of these editions is, according to us, to be excluded in this case.

b. 29-30

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

Slur f2-c3 in A

Slur e2-a2 in GE1

Slur e2-b2 in FE (→EE)

Slur e2-c3 in GE2

..

The range of the slur of A seems to be clear, in spite of this, it was not reproduced in this form in any of the editions. While an earlier beginning of the slur may be considered to be justified by a comparison with analogous bar 27, an earlier ending does not find any explanation in the notation of A and it is an example of a tendentious interpretation of slurs by the engraver of GE1, in addition, performed inaccurately, which was corrected in FE (→EE).

b. 29

composition: Op. 21, Concerto in F minor, Mvt I

..

In A there are no cautionary flats before B and d. The signs were added already in GE1 (→FEEE, →GE2), probably together with a  in the previous bar. Chopin's participation in this proofreading cannot be excluded, yet leaving an uncorrected mistake in the last two chords in the bar seems to indicate rather actions of the reviser, checking the correctness of the chromatic notation.
