b. 77

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

g1-d2-g2 in GC, FE (→EE) & GE2

g1-e2-g2 in GE1

..

The e2 note (instead of d2) in the last chord of the R.H. is certainly a mistake of GE1, caused by an inaccurate placement of this note in GC.

b. 78

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

Minim b1 in FE1

Minim c2 in GC (→GE)

Crotchet a1-c2 in FE2 (→EE1,FE3FE4)

Minim a1-c2 in EE2

..

Among the four versions of the middle notes of the chord at the beginning of the 2nd half of the bar present in the sources, the first (FE1) is certainly erroneous, whereas the last (EE2) – arbitrary. In turn, the remaining two are undoubtedly authentic and – according to us – equal. The a1-ccrotchet is probably earlier, it was probably in [A] and this is on this basis that is was introduced to FE2 instead of the erroneous bminim. The original third was initially also in GC, where, however, Chopin changed it to a cminim. Hence, we adopt the latter to the main text.

b. 78

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

 in GC (→GE)

No sign in FE (→EE)

..

The  hairpin, present only in GC (→GE), could have been added there by Chopin.

b. 78-79

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt I

Continuous slur in GC & FE (→EE)

Separate slurs in GE

..

The divided slurs in GE are probably an incorrect interpretation of the slurs of GC between the lines – although the beginning of the slur in b. 79 is harder to see in the copy, there is no doubt that the slur was meant to be continued.
