b. 29-30

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt II

..

The notation of accidentals in this passage is inaccurate in the sources, which, however, does not impede the interpretation of the correct text. In GC and previous FE, eight sharps are missing – before fcf1 and c2 in the L.H. and before c2f2c3 and f3 in the R.H. In EE, GE and FE4 the signs were added, but only GE2 includes the fully correct notation.

b. 30-31

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt II

No tie in GC (→GE)

Tie in FE (→EE)

..

The absence of the tie sustaining a2 is probably an oversight of the copyist.

Accent suggested by the editors

..

In the main text we suggest an accent in line with the analogous bar 11. Similarly in bar 219.

b. 32-34

composition: Op. 35, Sonata in B♭ minor, Mvt II

No arpeggio signs in the sources

Arpeggio signs suggested by the editors

..

Chopin did not mark here the arpeggios for the tenth chords of the L.H. In spite of this fact, on the basis of a few signs appearing in analogous bars, we suggest an alternative notation with marked arpeggios.
