Different versions of rhythmic notation of the last third are not easy to classify in terms of authenticity and chronology. The differences between particular sources concern three elements: the tie sustaining b1, the rhythmic value of the d2 note and semiquaver rest, completing the rhythmic values of the top voice. For the d2 note we adopt the form of the staccato quaver present in FE, as the version could have been corrected by Chopin. From the practical point of view, it is, however, only the tie or repetition of the b1 note that is important. Taking into account undeniable Chopin additions in FE in this and the next bar, to the main text we adopt the version without tie. In addition, we also suggest a variant solution with the tie in brackets, as Chopin's final intention concerning this issue is not entirely conclusive. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: EE revisions , GE revisions , Authentic corrections of FE , Inaccuracies in FC |

We add a cautionary before E. The addition was already introduced in GE2 (→GE3), which include naturals also before e2 in the L.H. and e3 in the R.H. category imprint: Differences between sources; Editorial revisions |

In FE, instead of , a was misplaced twice – at the beginning of the last group in the L.H. in bar 31 there is c2-e2 instead of c2-e2, while at the 7th semiquaver in bar 33 there is f2-a2 instead of f2-a2. Both mistakes were corrected in FES, although it is hard to state whether it was Chopin who performed it. In the second place, an erroneous or unclear notation could have been in [A] and in the remaining Stichvorlage manuscripts – in FC one can see a correction from to , while EE1 does not include any sign before this note, which gives the same result as the erroneous in FE. category imprint: Differences between sources issues: Annotations in teaching copies , Errors in FE , Errors of A , Annotations in FES |
