b. 92-93

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

Slur in A

No slur in FE (→GE,EE)

..

In A one can see a correction consisting in combining phrases in these bars, analogous to the one which in bars 84-85 Chopin introduced only in the proofreading of FE. The b-a slur, being one of the elements added in the new version, was, however, overlooked in the editions, which, according to us, was not intended by Chopin.

b. 94

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

a in A (probable reading) & FE2 (→EE)

in A (possible reading→FE1GE)

..

It is difficult to clearly state whether in A the last chord in the R.H. includes an element placed on the bottom stave and if it does, which one it is. According to us, a bolder stem next to a possible note is not a deletion, yet blurred ink. Due to the fact that it faces up, the blurred note was probably an a. FE1 printed here b, only the proofreading of FE2 indicated that Chopin thought about a, same as in bar 84. However, the erroneous version of FE1 was adopted in all GE.

b. 99-100

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

..

In the sources there are unnecessary (cautionary?) sharps before A at the beginning of bar 99 and a in bar 100. In A one can see that Chopin initially wrote a few other sharps of this type (in bars 92 and 101-102), which he then deleted. In the main text we do not give these signs.

b. 103-104

composition: Op. 26 No 2, Polonaise in E♭ minor

Single notes in A (→FE1GE)

Octaves in FE2 (→EE)

..

The bass line led with single notes is the original version, changed by Chopin in the proofreading of FE2 (→EE). The proofreading proves that the introduced in many later collective editions change of the 1st octave in bar 103 from F1−F to G1−G cannot correspond to Chopin's intention.
