b. 15

composition: Op. 26 No 1, Polonaise in C♯ minor

Long accent in A (contextual interpretation)

Short accent in A (literal reading→#Wf→GE,EE)

..

Although in A the sign of the accent is clearly shorter than in the adjacent bars, it is most probably to be interpreted as a long accent – same as in analogous bars 13 and 17.

b. 16-19

composition: Op. 26 No 1, Polonaise in C♯ minor

3 staccato dots in GE2 (→GE3)

2 staccato dots in A

3 staccato dot in FE (→EE)

No dots in GE1

..

The absence of the staccato dot in A for G1 in the L.H. in bar 16 is to be considered to be Chopin's oversight - the dots are present in similar bars 14 and 18. Chopin did not correct the mistake in the proofreading of FE, moreover, in FE (→EE) the engravers overlooked also a dot in bar 19, which in A is written in an abbreviated manner, with a repetition sign of the previous bar. In GE1 the sign was placed only in bar 14. A revision was performed respectively in GE2 (→GE3), validly adding dots in all analogous places.

b. 19

composition: Op. 26 No 1, Polonaise in C♯ minor

..

In GE2 the engraver overlooked the stem for in the L.H. - only the note head was printed. In turn, in GE3 the reviser erroneously added this note to the a crotchet. The defect was corrected only in GE4 (→GE5).
