b. 25-26

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

..

CLI is missing a cautionary  before g1 in bar 25. A relevant sign before cin bar 26 is present in all sources.

issues: Cautionary accidentals

b. 26

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

..

CLI has gas the 1st note of the last group of semiquavers. It is hard to assume that Chopin could have committed such a striking mistake.

issues: Errors of CLI

b. 26

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

d2d1 & d in CLI

e2e1 & e in FE (→GE,EE)

..

CLI has d2d1 and as the 4th, 8th and 12th note respectively. It is the original version, probably changed by Chopin only during a proofreading of FE (a clear sign of deleting a note in print can be seen only where the note is).

issues: Authentic corrections of FE , Main-line changes

b. 26

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

Semibreve in CLI, GE & EE

Dotted minim in FE

..

The note as a dotted minim appears only in FE, which most probably means that Chopin introduced it here instead of a semibreve only during a proofreading. Overseeing this change in EE may be explained with a mistake, revision or existence of another phase of FE's proofreading, not included in EE

issues: Accompaniment changes , Authentic corrections of FE

b. 27-37

composition: Op. 10 No 1, Etude in C major

No fingering in CLI

Fingering in FE (→GE)

Fingering in EE

..

The fingering in bars 27-30, 32-35 and 37 from FE (→GE,EE) adopted in the main text is certainly authentic (see however bar 27). In EE Fontana completed it in bar 36, according to the fingering resulting from Chopin's indications in the previous bar.
In GE4 (→GE5) the 5 digit over cin bar 37 was omitted.
